What can I expect in the custom order process?
The first step is to fill out an order form From there a member of our team will reach out to set up your invoice. We use QuickBooks software, please be on the lookout for your invoice. We require a 50% deposit up front, and the final payment is due when the boat leaves our factory in Portugal. We will also need your design. You can use the Nelo Design Tool (simple design of lines and up to 3 colors), or purchase a pre-made deign from Paddlesports designs. Paddlesports Designs also offers the chance to work with one of their deisgners to create something unique.
Once your deposit is paid, and we have your design, we will place your order on our next available shipment. Ocean freight takes about 35 days plus time for customs clearance and delivery to our warehouses in Washington and Florida. Shipping times do fluctuate, and although we try our best to get boats in on a timely schedule, thngs out of our control do happen, which can cause delays. Custom orders take a bit of patience!
Once the shipment has arrived, local pickup is free from our warehouses. We require local pick-up within one week of the container arrival. If you need extra time to come and pick up your boat, we can arrange storage at our facility - please reach out for pricing. If you need shipping, we will work with you to find a shipper. The shippers we work with tend to have very large trailers, making house deliveries problematic. They can meet at a central pick up point near a major highway. You will more than likely need to be able to car-top your boat from the pick-up point.
